Indie Romance Authors You Could (and should) Be Supporting

I posted a meme on Instagram about supporting independent authors during this difficult time and y'all came out in droves to recommend your favorites to me. I wanted to take those recommendations (at least those that authors who write romance in keeping with my blog content) and make a comprehensive post for

all those who are looking for new romantic reads and want to "shop small" in a way. Maybe you can't afford to buy new books right now.

No worries. You can still support authors by giving their pages a follow!


So, without further adieu, please enjoy this list that was exceptionally time-consuming to put together and thus not particularly organized.

 

@netts_shorts: Nannette Kreitzman writes short, sweet, romantic stories. Her novel Spitfire's Girl features a stubborn horse, a handful of good friends, splash of romance, and a pinch of western flare.


@lisaraeroman: Lisa Rae Romance is a paranormal romance author whose books focus on the Fae race.


@emmafrostuk: EJ Frost Daddy P.I. Casefiles follows a hero who needs a submissive to be his cover in an upcoming case. He's never been a Daddy before, but he might be exactly the Daddy little Emily needs.


@authorcarabristol: Cara writes science fiction romance. You can get a free book by clicking the link in her bio.


@lynnesilverauthor: Lynne writes contemporary romance and has many books including the Meet the Alpha series that so far features a fireman, bodyguard, and FBI agent.


@authorlindseypogue: Lindsey writes romance novels covering everything from small-towns to post-apocalyptic love stories.


@veronica_scott_author: Veronica writes science-fiction and paranormal romances and blogs for USA Today Happily Ever After, so she must know her stuff.


@alisonaimes: Alison is the author of the science-fiction Condemned series and a sexy contemporary, Billionaire Bad Boys.


@author_vtheia: V. Theia has a very popular and lengthy MC series featuring possessive alpha bikers.


@authoranastasiajenkins: Anastasia writes contemporary romances including Blood Lust about a mortician trying to dig her way through the numerous dead bodies left in her morgue due to the gang violence and the sexy detective hellbent on revenge.


@andrea.joy_author: Andrea writes popular dark romance including her Famiglia series featuring possessive, dangerous men and the women they'll die to protect.


@therealwanderlustdiaries: Maria's book The Wanderlust Diaries follows the story of a young hospice nurse as she sets off on a trip around the world.


@kara_s_weaver: Subscribe to Kara's newsletter and you'll get the free prequel to her Ilvannian Chronicles series about a young sheltered woman who inherits a throne and becomes a target.


@lisaloguebooks: In Lisa's Cursed Secrets series, a young woman is suffering from the long-term effects of witnessing a murder when a force is awakened inside her.


@cassidyreyne: Cassisy writes romantic suspense and you can be sure they'll be full of alpha males, sassy heroines, and lots of romance and drama.


@author_amandabailey: Amanda's books feature beautiful covers and her book Tempt Me is the story of two strangers on New Year's Eve and what could be.


@marialuisauthor: Maria is an experienced indie author, with many successful books under her belt. Her website lists four of her books for free, so you can easily try her books on for size.

@juliajarretauthor: Julia's upcoming book pairs a gorgeous doctor and hot bartender together in a spicy second chance romance.


@authormercerscott: Mercer's debut novel In Times of Darkness just recently hit Amazon earlier this month.


@writerskyemcd: Skye writes contemporary romances set in Nashville, TN and writes sassy southern heroines who have to learn to love themselves before they can find their HEAs.


@laurenhmaeauthor: Lauren loves a hard-earned HEA. Her debut novel The Catch has the cutest illustrated cover and features a love-never-lasts heroine and a right-guy-wrong-time.


@mattthanoverfiction: Matthew has published two romance novels centered around wallflowers finding their happily ever afters with unexpected partners.


@milanickswrites: Mila's debut novel is our May 2020. Love's Recipe features delicious food, sizzling chemistry, underdog hero/heroine and Halloween.


@bretagey: Woods' has her first three novels coming out this Spring. The first Love in the Capital is about a heroine finally opening herself up to the idea of some summer fun when threatening text messages put a damper on her budding summer fling.


@ljevansbooks: LJ loves pairing music and romance to create sexy contemporary romance. She has a unique My Life is an Album new adult series in which music plays a large role.


@kelswritesstuff: Kelsey's book The Life We Have is a male/male romance with a learning-to-love-yourself theme. It currently has rave reviews.


@laurapavlovauthor: Laura writes sweet and sexy contemporary romance novels and has a new trilogy about star-crossed lovers, the first of which is called More Jade.


@laceydaileyauthor: Lacey's book Devil Side is about a girl with nothing to lose and the stranger who's offering her a chance at everything. But the boy is hiding a secret that could change everything.


@harlowjamesauthor: Harlow has a number of novels that stand on the border of sweet and sultry. Her Instagram page is full of spice and humor.


@elis.angelico: Elis is a Brazilian-American author whose book Courageous Lovers pairs a woman afraid of risking her heart with a graffiti artist hero who wants a happily ever after.


@indieauthorandreahopkins: Andrea loves angst, so you'll find tons of it between the pages of her books. Her books are on KU and have rave reviews.


@taydanaewrites: Taylor's book It Goes Without Saying is a second chance romance between two people who never actually got to have their chance at a romance. The description sounds pretty darn awesome.


@nicolerodriguesauthor: Nicole's books, available on KU, are sassy, swoony, and sexy. Some of them even have tattoos.


@authorcassiefaber: Cassie's Frozen Memories book brings together a redeemed bad boy and an innocent cupcake shop owner who's missing some of memories following a car accident.


@darealmrs.gray: Kathey's novel One Drunk Text has heroine Corinne suffering from the aftermath of a drunken night in which she texts her best friend she's been in love with him for years. Friends to lovers fans will rejoice.


@chloe_liese: Chloe's newest release Only When It's Us covers a lot of tropes in on. It's a sports romance with frienemies-to-lovers and forced proximity and pairs together a surly, silent type with a hothead prank-player to give us a slow-burning story filled with sexual tension. Chloe was recently diagnosed with autism and is using her platform to bring awareness to the experience.


@alliewrites_: Allie's debut novel Too Much of a Good Thing is available on KU. It has an us-against-the-world theme and follows a wannabe children's book author finally taking steps to become independent and her best friend who doesn't want to be left behind.


@ashleeroseauthor: Ashlee writes steamy romance. Her Entwined with You series has serious Fifty Shades of Grey vibes, so if that was your jam you should check it out.


@kristengranata: Kristen's novel Hating the Boss is a Top 100 Best Seller in RomComs on Amazon and is currently in listed in KU.

@elliemalouff: Ellie writes books that tug at the heart string. You can give a few of her books a try for free by signing up for her newsletter.


@nikkijsummersauthor: Nikki's novel Hurt to Love is a fascinating tale of rescue, sexual tension, and the lengths a man will go to in order to protect his woman.


@authornylak: Nyla writes flipping hot fiction. Her most recent published novel Seek Me features a woman in need of friendship and the man who no one expects to be able to pull it off.


@lindseypowellperfect: Lindsey has self-published nine romance novels and almost all have some element of romantic suspense within the pages. Her upcoming romance will be a dark romance with a bad ass heroine, alpha hero, and extra steamy scenes.


@nikkimaysauthor: Nikki is the author of the best-selling SAPD SWAT series featuring bad ass alpha men on the right side of the law.


@michelle_hillstrom_author: Michelle is the author of the paranormal romance series, The Kiss Series. The series is about an undying love affair as it spans centuries, defeats death, and conquers those who would dare to try to rip it apart.


@marlaholtauthor: To see if Marla's books are up your alley you can sign up for her newsletter and get one for free! Her book Ethan and Juliet is an opposites attract, second chance romance.


@melaniesmithauthor: If you're interested in romantic suspense you'll love Melanie's novel The Safeguarded Heart, especially because it's free for Kindle right now.


@authorjsylvis: All of Slyvis' books are on KU. She has a rockstar romance and two romcoms that all have great reviews!

@mariainmadness: Her book I Would Never...But If I Did is about a woman totally done with the idea of love and her struggle to juggle relationships without falling in love.


@sydney_j_mann: Sydney's book The Dark Wood is the intriguing tale of a world of eternal darkness and the girl who longs for the light. She'll eventually have to choose between the boy she loves and the sun she's always dreamed of.


@shannaswen_author: Shanna is the author of the popular Abundance series. She writes endearing adult romances that showcase the healing power of love after tragedy.


@author_lgcampbell: L.G. Campbell is the author of the Rocke Series. Her book Rise Above is the story of an English girl sent to work in a small Texas town and the man she meets whose attention she craves. It's filled with embarrassing family members, tequila, laughter, hot alphas, and suspense.


@eve.kasey.loves4: Eve writes romance that balances sweetness and steam while aiming to teach readers something new. She works to make sure her books portray healthy relationships and attitudes towards sex.


@mstorialverez: Tori's novel Beautiful Collison is about a young woman from the wrong side of town who will never let herself depend on a man and the young man with the inheritance who believes no woman can be trusted. This book is on KU.
